Obituary

Robert D. "Bob" Fairburn 53 life long resident of East Bridgewater died unexpectedly Wednesday March 25. He was the loving husband of Ruth Ann (Almeida) Fairburn, and devoted father of Donnie, Elizabeth and Daniel.

Born in Brockton and raised in East Bridgewater he was the son of the late Robert Stewart and Loretta (Sullivan) Fairburn and a graduate of East Bridgewater High Class of 1974.

Bob served on the East Bridgewater Fire Department for thirty two years, the last thirteen as Deputy Fire Chief. He was an active and respected member of the community and served as a role model for many.

He was a member of the Satucket Lodge.

In addition to his loving wife and children he is survived by Ruth Ann's parents Donald and Louise Almeida and his sisters Loretta Susan Cotta and Cindy Wright.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respect Sunday March 29 from 2-6 PM in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel Plymouth Street (Rt. 58 at the rotary) Whitman. His funeral service will be held Monday March 30 at 10 AM from the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, followed by a mass at 11 AM in St. John the Evangelist Church, East Bridgewater. Internment will follow in the Beaver Cemetery, East Bridgewater.

In lieu of flowers, college educational accounts have been set up for the children at the East Bridgewater Savings Bank 29 Bedford Street, East Bridgewater, MA 02333.
