Obituary

Robert J. Pratt, 67, a resident of Whitman for 34 years, passed away at home Saturday July 21 surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of 45 years to Ina M. (Eaton) Pratt.

Born in Key West, FL., he was the son of the late Robert C. and Freda M. (Archibald) Pratt.

Robert had proudly served in the US Navy for 12 years, having served three tours in Vietnam and attaining the rank of Chief before his retirement. He was a longtime member of the American Legion of Whitman Post 22, where for over 12 years he served as the Finance Officer.

Before his illness, Robert had enjoyed many days outdoors gardening.

In addition to his wife Ina, he is survived by his children Sean P. Pratt of San Diego, Whitman and Abington and his wife Kathy A. (Culver) Pratt of Pennsylvania, New York and Abington, Timothy A. Pratt of Whitman and Abington, Laura A. (Pratt) Turner of Whitman and Virginia Beach (serving in the US Navy) and her husband Jeffry Turner of East Bridgewater and Virginia Beach, and Katherine L. Pratt of Whitman and Hanson, his brothers and sister James Pratt and Joseph Pratt both of Florida, Richard Pratt of Alabama, Stephen Pratt of Wareham and Ruth Nelson of Whitman. He is also survived by his grandchildren Joseph M., Amanda L. and Ayshah M. Pratt and Samantha R. Turner and his great grandson Mason Michael Lee Holly as well as many nieces and nephews.

Family friends are invited to attend a gathering in his honor to be held Saturday August 4 from 12-5 PM at the American Legion Hall, Whitman.
