Roger Melvin Jennings, 90, formerly of Everett and Cambridge, died on June 10 at Webster Park Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center after a period of failing health. Born in Cambridge, Ma., Roger was the son of the late Margaret R. (Bismore) Jennings and the late Frank LeRoy Jennings.
He was the youngest of 7 children, brother to the late: Frank Jennings, Kenneth Jennings, William Jennings, Dorothy (Jennings) Wright, Warren Jennings, and Burton Jennings. He is survived by many nieces and nephews.
He attended Whitman schools and the Scott Carbbee Art School.
Roger was employed by the J H Emerson Company and in later years as a wedding photographer. He enjoyed photography, painting, square dancing, and bowling.
In WWII Roger served on the aircraft carrier USS Bennington in the first carrier strike against Japan in 1945.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Funeral Services on Thursday, June 15, at 9:00 am in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth St., (Rte. 58 @ the rotary) Whitman followed by burial at 11:30 AM in the National Cemetery in Bourne.
