February 20, 1941 – September 22, 2026 

Roger Sullivan of East Bridgewater, passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of his family after a courageous journey with Alzheimer’s disease. He was the beloved husband of Lois (Flood) Sullivan, with whom he shared 39 wonderful years of marriage. 

Roger was the son of the late William and Myrtle Sullivan.Roger was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. In addition to his wife, Lois, he leaves behind his children: Timothy and Jodi Sullivan of Westport, MA, Erin and Larry Reinhart of Lake in The Hills, Illinois, Karyn and Brian Bosse of Hanson, MA, Jessica and Paul Sheehan of Cumberland, RI and Kaitlyn Terrizzi of Middleboro, MA.

Roger was predeceased by his siblings, Joseph Sullivan and Rose (and her husband Richard) Anderson. He is survived by his brother, Larry and his wife Kathleen Sullivan, Joseph’s wife (sister-in-law) Patricia Sullivan, Sisters-in-law Beverly and husband Edward Smith, Deborah and husband Wayne Nelson.

Roger was a proud graduate of Brockton High School, Class of 1960. He went on to serve his country honorably in the United States Navy in the early 60’s. During his years of service, he was stationed aboard the USS Oriskany.

Following his military service, Roger built a long and successful career with Bay State Gas, where he worked as a draftsman for 41 years until his retirement. During his time at the gas company, Roger was a proud member of the Utility Workers of America. He was a dedicated and hardworking man who took great pride in his work and in providing for his family.

To his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Roger was lovingly known as “Papa.” He was cherished by them all and took great joy in being a grandfather and great-grandfather. His family will always remember the special delight the children took in his remarkable resemblance to Santa Claus. With his kind face, warm smile, and unmistakable Santa-like appearance, Papa brought a little extra magic to their childhood memories.

Roger will be remembered for his quiet strength, kindness, and devotion to his family. He leaves behind a lifetime of memories that will be cherished by his wife, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family, and friends. His life of service, hard work, and love for those around him will not be forgotten.

Visiting hours will be held at Blanchard Funeral Chapel, 666 Plymouth Street, Whitman, on Monday, September 28, 2026 from 4-6PM. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 29 at 11:00 AM. Burial with military honors will follow at Central Cemetery, East Bridgewater.
