Roy Eric
Faust
d. Aug 9, 2026
Roy Eric Faust passed away peacefully at home on August 9, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. Born in Boston and raised in Roxbury, Roy was proud of his heritage as the son of immigrants—his father, Carl Eric Faust from Sweden, and his mother, Maria “Mimi” (Nilson) Faust from Hamburg, Germany.
He graduated from Boston Trade High School in 1953 before answering the call to serve his country by joining the United States Air Force. He served honorably during the Korean War as an aircraft mechanic, applying his ingenuity, hard work, and technical skill to keep aircraft flying safely. Following his military service, Roy worked at Garland Mills in Jamaica Plain where he met his wife of 58 years, Lillian (Hudson) Faust. Later he enjoyed a long and dedicated career as a maintenance mechanic for Boston Edison until his retirement in 1996. With his talent for mechanics, there was nothing he couldn’t fix and he generously shared his gift with family and friends.
Above all else, Roy was devoted to his family. He shared a wonderful life with his beloved wife, Lillian Faust, and was a proud and loving father to Lisa Plunkett and her husband Brian of East Bridgewater, Eric Faust of Taunton and stepfather of William MacDonald and his wife Jeanne of Norwood and the late Gail Magrath and her husband, Fred of Bridgewater. He was the beloved “Papa” of Zachary, Gregory, Danielle, Kelly, Kristen, Melissa, Lori and Michael. He is predeceased by his brother Richard and sister Sylvia, and leaves behind sisters Shirley and Ingrid.
Visitation for friends and family will be held on Sunday, August 16th at Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Route 58 @ rotary on Plymouth Street, Whitman, MA from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. There will be a private family ceremony on Monday, August 17th. Roy will be laid to rest in the family plot at The Gardens at Gethsemane Cemetery in West Roxbury.
