Obituary

Hanson – Ruth P. (Sullivan) McDonald 90 of Hanson, formerly of West Roxbury, died Tuesday February 12 after a period of failing health. She was the beloved wife of the late George V. "Mike" McDonald.

Born and raised in Boston she was the daughter of the late Thomas J. and Ruth P. (Grages) Sullivan and a graduate of Roslindale High, Class of 1940.

Ruth was a proud veteran of World War II having served in the US Navy W.A.V.E. from 1943-1945.

Before her retirement in 1985 she had worked many years as a secretary for the Boston Fire Department.

She is survived by her loving nieces Joan (Lynsky) Markel, Arlene Lynsky, Virginia Rasch and Ann (Rasch) Johnson all of TN and her nephew John "Chuck" Rasch of New Mexico. She was the sister of the late Dorothy Lynsky and Marion Rasch.

Her funeral service will be held Tuesday February 19 at 11 AM in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte. 58 @ the rotary) Whitman. Burial will follow at 1:15 PM in the MA National Cemetery, Bourne. Visiting hours will be held prior to the service from 10-11 AM.
