Stephen Francis Murphy, 84, of Abington passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on May 19, 2026 at home after a long illness.

Born in Brockton, MA in 1942 to the late Charles and Josephine Murphy. He was a lifelong resident of Abington. He attended Abington High School and Boston College. Stephen worked in banking for over 40 years.

Stephen was happily married to his loving wife Barbara for over 55 years. He leaves behind two daughters and a son. Julie Evans of Avon, Sean Murphy of Abington and Kelly Murphy and Chad Roy of Syracuse, NY. He leaves behind six beloved grandchildren, Kacie and Chloe Murphy of Abington, DJ and Derek Evans of Avon and Mica and Fallon Roy of Syracuse, NY. In addition, he leaves behind his beloved and devoted cat, Helen.

A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, June 19th at 10:30 AM at St. Bridgets Church, Abington. A burial will immediately follow at the Holy Family Cemetery, Rockland.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Croi Hospice Services.
