Obituary

Stephen J. Roach, 62, of Whitman, died, surrounded by his loving family at home, on January 5th after a brief illness. He was the beloved husband of Patricia F. (Barnes) Roach.

Steve was born and raised in Brockton, son of the late Thomas R. and Lois A. (Duval) Roach. He was a graduate of Cardinal Spellman High School, class of 1967.

He has been a Whitman resident for 38 years and was an owner of pubs in the Brockton and Abington areas.

He was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle and grandfather. He so enjoyed the time he was able to spend with his grandchildren. He will be missed by all.

In addition to his wife Patricia, his is survived by his daughter Tara (Roach) DuPuy and her husband David of Bridgewater, his sister Mary (Roach) Mahoney and her husband Francis of West Bridgewater, his brother Jim and wife Marguerite Roach of Sudbury, his grandchildren, Emmett, Ella and Wyatt; and many loving nieces and nephews. He was also the loving father of the late Sean Michael Roach.

His funeral services will be on Saturday January 8th at 8:15AM from the Blanchard Funeral Chapel Plymouth Street (Rt. 58 at the rotary) Whitman, followed by a Funeral Mass at 9:00AM in the Holy Ghost Church, Whitman Interment will follow in the St. James Cemetery Whitman. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his visitation on Friday January 7th from 4:00-8:00. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Caritas Home Care, 3 Edgewater Dr., Norwood, MA 02062.
