South Boston – Stephen E. Smolinsky III, 35 formerly of Abington, died unexpectedly Sunday July 21.
Born in Brockton and raised in Abington he was the son of Yvonne (Escabi) Smolinsky of Whitman and William F. Smolinsky, Sr. and had attended Abington schools.
For seven years Stephen had worked as a "tin knocker" had had been a proud member of the Sheet Metal Workers Union Local 17.
He enjoyed sports of all kinds, motorcycles and spending time with family and friends.
In addition to his mother he is survived by his brothers William Smolinsky, Jr. and his wife Keri of Carver, Adam Collins of Whitman, and Jason Smolinsky of NH, his sister Tina Goodwin and her husband Bob of Halifax, his nieces and nephews Daniel, Haylee, Lindsey, Justin, Joshua and Jake. He is also survived by his companion Shannon Murphy.
His funeral service will be held Saturday July 27 at 8:15 AM from the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte. 58 @ the rotary) Whitman, followed by a funeral mass at 9 AM in Holy Family Church, Rockland. Burial will follow in Mt. Vernon Cemetery, Abington. Visiting hours will be held Friday July 26 from 4-9 PM.
