Obituary

Susan J. (Dunn) Flaherty, 48, died Wednesday August 15th in the Braintree Landing Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Braintree after a period of failing health. She was the wife of Michael P. Flaherty, Sr. of Whitman.

She was born in Brockton, daughter of the late Richard W. Dunn and Ruth (Johnston) (Dunn) Martin.

Susan, a Whitman resident most of her life, she was a graduate from Whitman-Hanson class of 1979 and took some courses at Massasoit Community College in Brockton.

She belonged to the Calvary Baptist Church in Hanson, where she enjoyed babysitting at the church.

Susan was very devoted to her husband of 21 years and her son.

She is survived by her husband Michael; her son Michael, both of Whitman; her in-laws Stephen Flaherty of NC, Marcia Flaherty of Randolph, Ann Flaherty of NC; her best friend Denise Scannell of Whitman; also several nieces and nephews.

A gathering will be held Monday August 20th at 10:30 A.M. in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel followed by a 11:00 AM graveside service in the Colebrook Cemetery, Whitman, MA .Visiting hours will be on Sunday August 19th 2-4 & 7-9 PM, in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street, (Route 58 at the Rotary Circle) Whitman.
