Terrance “Terry” James Minnehan, 82, of Whitman, Massachusetts, passed away unexpectedly on April 16, 2026.

Born on June 23, 1943, in Brockton, Massachusetts, he was the second son of the late Beatrice A. (Woodland) Minnehan and Allan A. Minnehan.

He served his country as a Seabee in the U.S. Navy, proudly serving during the Vietnam War. Upon his return, he worked in the Plumber’s Union and later became a Whitman firefighter, serving the community for many years while also working as a self-employed plumber.

In his younger years, Terry enjoyed fishing on Martha’s Vineyard, golfing with friends, and attending his children’s sporting events. During his retirement, he continued to stay active, working part-time as a plumber for the Abington School Department. When he wasn’t working, he could often be found ironing, cooking, or grocery shopping—always taking care of those around him. He especially loved time spent with his family by the pool and could often be found reading a good James Patterson novel.

He was the loving husband of 56 years to Janice "Sugar" (Fowler) Minnehan and a devoted father to his three daughters: Tara Boyce, Tina Osgood and her husband, Edward, and Tricia Campbell. He was also a proud “Pa” to his eight cherished grandchildren: Taylor Boyce, Camryn Boyce, Trevor Boyce, Terrance “Cash” Campbell, Ella Osgood, Hunter Osgood, Drew Osgood, and Levi Osgood.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours at Blanchard’s Funeral Chapel, 666 Plymouth Street, Whitman, MA 02382, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 13. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, May 14, at 11:00 a.m. The family welcomes friends and relatives to a buffet luncheon at Meadow Brook Restaurant, 1486 Main Street, Hanson, MA 02341, following the services. A private burial will take place at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Terry’s memory may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
