Obituary

Wayne Ridley, 70, of East Bridgewater passed away suddenly Sunday at Brockton Hospital. He was the husband for 40 years of Deborah L. (Horton) Ridley.

Born July 12, 1947 in Weymouth, a son of the late Dorothy Culver and Everett Ridley. He had been resident of East Bridgewater for 39 years and worked as a custodian at Gordon Mitchell Middle School, also in East Bridgewater, for 20 years.

Wayne was an avid fisherman, his favorite spot was the Cape Cod Canal. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, family and friends.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by: a son, Matthew Ridley of East Bridgewater, a daughter, Jennifer Benefit and her husband Eric of Plymouth, two brothers, Paul and his wife Paula of Whitman, Glen of Maine, a father in law, Charles Devaney of Whitman, two grandchildren, Cameron and Avery Benefit of Plymouth, several nieces, nephews, and many friends. .

His funeral service will be held Saturday March 17 at 10:00 AM in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte. 58 @ the rotary) Whitman. Visiting hours will be held Friday March 16 from 4:00-8:00 PM.
