Obituary

Wilfred F. "Dixie" Duggan, 84,of Marshfield formerly of Whitman, passed away surrounded by his family at home on Saturday July 28th. He was the loving husband of the late Margaret" Peggy" F. (Folan) Duggan and father of five children.

He was born in Holbrook, son of the late Wilfred F. Sr. and Bridget E. (Connolly) Duggan. Dixie was a graduate of Whitman High School and also received a bachelor's degree.

He served his country in the United States Army from 1954-1956 and then in the United States Airforce from 1959-1980, retiring as a Major.

Dixie had many passions: his wife Peg, flying at the speed of sound and playing any sport available to him, except for soccer.

He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Family and friends are invited to attend his funeral Mass on Monday October 1 at 10 AM in St. Ann By The Sea Church, 591 Ocean Street, Marshfield, MA 02050. Burial will follow at 12:45 PM in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne.
