Obituary

William D. Jenness, 81, of Whitman, passed away on Tuesday Sept 17th in the Southeast Rehab & Skilled Care Center in North Easton. He was the beloved husband of the late Elaine C. (Spence) Jenness for 31 years.

He was born in Rockland, son of the late Martin and Gladys (Anderson) Jenness.

Bill was a graduate of Whitman High School, Class of 1949. He served his country as a staff sergeant in the United States Air Force from 1951-1955.

He has been a resident of Whitman for many years. Bill worked for AT&T for 35 years as a troubleshooter, before retiring.

Bill enjoyed gardening, playing cards with family, flying small airplanes and tracing his family's geneology all the way back to England.

He was the beloved step father to Robert and Diane Duprez of Brockton, Richard and Suzie Duprez of American Canyon, CA., and the late Randy Duprez, beloved grandfather to 9 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren, beloved brother of Edward Jenness of Whitman and the late Eleanor (Jenness) Hilly: also survived by his daughters Carol Jenness and Paula (Jenness) Hommel both of Hanson, as well as his caregiver Cindy Picanzo.

His funeral services will be held on Monday September 23rd at 12:00PM in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth St. (Rte 58@ the rotary circle) Whitman. Internment will follow in the Colebrook Cemetery, Whitman. Visitation will be held 2 hours prior to his service from 10:00AM-12:00PM.
