Obituary

William P. Polito, 69, of Abington died at his home, Saturday, March 1, after a period of failing health. He was the husband of Joan (Baker) Polito of Abington. Born in Boston and grew up in Hull, he has been a resident of Abington since 1965.William was a veteran of the United States Navy. He retired from Aggregate Industries.
He loved to play cribbage and to travel down to Foxwoods. His passion was his family and he loved watching his children and grandchildren play sports, never missing their games. He and his family summered at Peter's pond in Sandwich, MA.
He is survived by his wife Joan (Baker ) Polito of Abington , his 2 sons Richard Polito and his wife Jacquelyn of Abington and David Polito and his wife Jeanne of North Caroline ; also his six grandchildren, Alexandra, Michael, Marc, Jacquelyn, Jon and Deanna, many nieces and nephews.
His funeral services will be held Wednesday March 5th at 8:15 AM from the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street, (Rt 58 at the rotary circle) Whitman, followed by a funeral mass at 9:00 AM in the ST. Bridget Church Abington, MA. , burial will be in the Woodside Cemetery, Cohasset, MA. Visiting will be held Tuesday March 4th from 4-8 PM. Donations may be made in his name to the Old Colony Hospice, One Credit Union Way, Randolph, MA. 02368.
